Llanos Orientales Wildlife Adventure - 4 days

Take a walk on the wild side and discover the natural beauty of the Llanos Orientales, one of Colombia's best kept secrets. As we make our way towards the floodplains of the East, we will descend along the breathtaking Andes mountains, allowing you to experience the true diversity of Colombia's landscapes.

On this tour you will hike through flooded forests in search of monkeys, ride on horseback through savannah, explore rivers and lagoons by boat and canoe and experience some of the most magical sunrises and sunsets you can ever imagine!

Accommodation

We will spend the first two nights at a countryside hotel. Rooms are equipped with a double bed, air conditioning, wifi & a private bathroom with cold water showers. The 3rd night will be spent at an eco hotel bordering the River Cravo Sur. Rooms have a double bed, air conditioning & cold showers. Wifi is not available.

Things to know

Temperatures commonly range between 28ºC and 33ºC. The best time for wildlife viewing is during the dry season which runs from November through April. During the rainy season water can rise up to a meter, turning the plains of the savanna into a seasonal wetland teaming with aquatic bird species and offering you an entirely different experience.

Location

Yopal is located approximately 10 hours from our departure point (330km). We will reach heights of over 3000 m.a.s.l as we cross over the Andes mountains, but once we reach the floodplains all of our activities will take place at lower elevations (ranging from 250-400 m.a.s.l.)
