Chicaque Birdwatching 2D/1N
Lodging
This tour includes accommodation in a forest cabin within Chicaque Natural Park, fitted with a double bed and a private bathroom with a warm shower. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and has a chimney that the lodge staff can operate.
Last minute requests for Chicaque are challenging to fulfill for the months of December, January, June and July. We recommend making your reservation at least two weeks in advance to ensure lodging availability.
Weather
The temperature ranges between 10ºC and 15ºC. About 30% of the time we experience light rain and about 10% of the time we see heavy rain. We recommend bringing a rain jacket in case of occasional showers. The driest months are December through February and the wettest months are April-May and October-November.
Location
Chicaque is located south-west of Bogotá about 1.5 hours from our departure point. We begin hiking at an altitude of 2600 m.a.s.l. and the lodge sits at 2300 m.a.s.l.
Difficulty
The trails are mostly steep and slippery when wet, made of colonial era cobblestones and uneven, dirt pathways. We will be hiking in with our luggage.
